"An endless road. Letting oneself be dragged along by blind destiny. When the SS became tired, they were changed. But no one changed us. Our limbs numb with cold despite the running, our throats parched, famished, breathless, on we went."

Has it really come to that? Not even a shred of hope or courage, or anything resembling a slightly positive emotion? At this point there really was no hope for them, was there? I wonder what it was like to feel completely lost and in despair. To have almost no will to live because it seems like there's just nothing left to live for.
